Last week we went on an exciting trip to see many different types of art for the Capital E Festival.
Firstly, we had a double decker bus take us into Wellington.
Then we had the amazing Anika Moa to get us up dancing and singing.
Next, we learnt a song about whales in Te Reo and had to save the beached whales by keeping them calm, cool, and comfortable.
Lastly, we had a series of stop motion short films to watch. Some of our favourites were 'Shaun the Sheep', the man on stilts, and the love story with the man who could create light bulbs from his mouth!
A big thanks to the parent helpers and all of you in Rimu Wha for being so great and enjoying the different kinds of art. Next up... the Bug Lab at Te Papa!!

Some of us have started writing blog posts for you. Here are two examples.
"In term 1 we have been swimming down at the bottom field we have been great at swimming. We have done dolphin and back kick. There is also Dojo points, the whole class has more than 229 Dojo points." From Pele.
"Swimming is the best. I really liked doing freestyle. Your arms go up and down like a crash landing and on the third arm you take a breath." From Josh.
Here are some photos.

Hi everyone, Rimu Wha had a great first 3 days at school last week!
There were lots of new people to meet in our class.. including myself! Some of the things we did to get to know each other a bit better were introducing ourselves by doing a mihimihi, playing games of 'two truths one lie', shared about our holidays, and made art that showed some of our favourite things exploding out of our heads. We have put the art on the wall under everyone's names and as the year goes on everyone can decide what they want to display on their wall space.
We also had our buddy class Kauri Wha come to visit on Friday and read together.
If you didn't get a copy of my letter that went home on day one, I have spares in class.
Mr. Smith :)
